Cross-Border Transportation

Northbound Freight Consolidation

Through use of our U.S. warehouse (located in Buffalo, NY), your Canadian business can have all incoming freight shipped to one location, where it can be received, palletized and inventoried. Your company saves immediately by avoiding costly international freight and courier charges - and in many cases U.S. suppliers don't charge for domestic shipping within the United States! Also, shipments made to your company in error are easily detected before crossing the border, and can be shipped back to the supplier without any additional customs headaches - and costs!

Once all freight has arrived and you're ready to ship, NLS will set-up the appropriate paperwork with your customs broker and ensure the shipment is ready to go. Once it is certified with Canada Customs, we will transport it across the border and deliver it to your address as quickly as possible. For clients located in southern Ontario, delivery usually takes place the next morning!

By crossing a single "consolidated shipment", you again save money by incurring lower customs brokerage fees. As well, our competitive delivery rates anywhere in Canada make this an easy and cost-effective way to ship your incoming U.S. freight right to your doorstep.

Southbound Freight Consolidation

Canadian clients looking to distribute product into the United States enjoy several advantages when they consolidate their shipments. Firstly, by crossing several shipments at one time, you avoid paying international freight and courier rates on each shipment. Once the consilidated shipment arrives in the United States, you can utilize less-expensive U.S. domestic shipping options to distribute product to your customers, while avoiding international delays.

Once again, your customs brokerage fees will be lower since you're only paying brokerage on a single consolidated shipment (instead of several individual shipments).

By utilizing our U.S. distribution services, you may choose to further simplify the process by having NLS arrange shipping from our U.S. facility to your customer. This can be through a courier service (FedEx, UPS, etc.) or a larger freight carrier. Our growing network of affiliate carriers help us provide a cost and transit time that will suit your requirements.
